We gathered a few pictures so that you can see how amazing that beach is. It is one of the longest beach on the west coast of the island. Lately it seems that it is cleaner than usual and that it looks like it is on the priority list of the authorities as there are wi-fi on some sections you can connect to, lamp posts and clean thatched umbrellas on the central part of that stretch. There is still much to be done as you can still spot some plastic containers buried in the sand or beer cans that lie around the bins, …
The view of the ocean is stunning with shades of blue, with wooden boats swaying on the gentle waves. The beach is full of visitors on public holidays and on week-ends and quite calm on week days. It is very sandy and further down there are lines of casuarina trees for those who like to be in the shade. Flic en Flac beach is family-friendly and safe. It is however better not to loiter out too late. The sunset attracts many as it offers a spectacular sight.
You will definitely love it. There are food trucks, ice-cream sellers and candy floss sellers. No alcoholic drinks are sold on the beach. Boats to Ile aux Benitiers and for Dolphin Watch depart close to Villa Caroline Hotel early morning. It is better to book a trip beforehand to make sure you get a ride.
Further down in Wolmar, hotels fringe the beach and in the centre of the village there are self- catering holiday villas and apartments with facilities such as swimming pool or tennis courts close to most amenities. The weather is mild all year round and buses run from 6:00am to 6:00pm.
