The training programme which emphasised on understanding the foundations and principles of protocol was organised by the Ministry of Civil Service and Administrative Reforms in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade

A three and a half day training programme on Protocol, organised by the Ministry of Civil Service and Administrative Reforms in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade,has been kicked off this morning at Fooks House, Port Louis. Present at the opening of the training programme were The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade, Mr Etienne Sinatambou, and the Acting Senior Chief Executive of the Ministry of Civil Service and Administrative Reforms, Mr Ashis Kumar Hoolass.

The National Young Volunteers Scheme (NYVS), aiming to create opportunities for youth to engage in volunteering activities at regional and national levels, was officially launched by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr Yogida Sawmynaden, at the Municipal Council of Port Louis.

Besides the broadening of democratic values by making available freely and openly data that does not violate the privacy of individuals, data is, by essence, a vital national resource that has the potential to empower Mauritians to fuel entrepreneurship, innovation, scientific discovery and economic growth', said the Minister of Technology, Communication and Innovation, Mr Pravind Jugnauth, yesterday in Port Louis.

The Government has put in place three training programmes to ensure that the needs and aspirations of jobseekers and employers are met. A Skills Working Group, co-chaired by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Labour, Industrial Relations, Employment and Training, and the Director of the Joint Economic Council, has been set up to that effect to ensure that these programmes are monitored effectively.

Zimbabwean firms should boost business linkages with Mauritian firms to increase their exports to that country, an official has said. Increasing Zimbabwe's exports to Mauritius will also help in shrinking the trade deficit as trade statistics between the two countries show that Mauritius' exports to Zimbabwe have been increasing steadily over the last five years, almost doubling between 2013 and 2014.
