The first golf club in Mauritius, Gymkhana was founded in 1844 during the British period and
it looks like it’s the world’s fourth oldest! Today the 26th of February, the Mauritius
Gymkhana Club, located in Vacoas hosted a junior competition organised by the Mauritius
Golf Federation, unveiling rising stars.
The MGC golf course is 5.6 kilometers long and is a par 68. Despite the fact that it is a
relatively short course, it is full of character and offers great challenges to players as it is
very tight and thus precision and technical shots are called for.
The course is comprised of six holes of par 3, two holes of par 5 and ten holes of par 4. The
longest is hole 6 at 497 metres long and the shortest hole is 5 at 132 metres.
