Avalon Golf Estate Bois Sec Bois Cheri

Tee and Tea

Avalon is a lush green 18-hole golf-course in the centre (south) of the island. The stunning view and the splendid facilities make this place a nice one to spend the day for a golfing experience or to have lunch after sightseeing on the scenic Grand Bassin road through the forests, crossing Mare aux Vacoas and Grand Bassin sacred lake.

The two tallest indian deities of the Indian Ocean, by Grand-Bassin are a must-see: Shiva and Durga dominate the area and attract thousands of tourists yearly. A short drive from there through the tea plantations leads to Avalon Golf Estate and its restaurant.

We might have tested Magic Spoon on a bad day… well, it was not crowded but we waited one hour to get what we ordered. Pizzas are definitely not their speciality. However the Club House seems to have a friendlier and warmer atmosphere with tastier but lighter options. Rates remain affordable for such a well-maintained and manicured course.

Both eating venues overlook the golf course. The weather in summer is beautiful but can be a bit crisp.
